The formal inquest into the death of Anele Tembe has been postponed and will now proceed in September. This is after the Cape Town Magistrates’ Court on Monday adjourned proceedings because of a medical emergency. The inquest had been scheduled to begin this week, more than five years after Tembe falled to her death from the 10th floor of a Cape Town hotel in April 2021. Proceedings will reportedly be heard on 7, 8, 9, 15 and 16 September 2026.
