We impatiently count down the hours until Barbie hits theaters and millions of people soak in Greta Gerwig’s masterpiece. Until then, we can get the Ken-ergy going with the newly launched Barbie The Album!
Plus, you don’t need to buy a ticket to listen to it.
The Barbie movie is set to bring the heat this winter, and in the northern hemisphere: it is expected to be the film of the summer. Atlantic Records, back in May, announced the artists featured on the soundtrack and it is a star-studded as its sister film.

As per the post, some of the famous voices on the album include: Ice Spice, Lizzo, Nicki Minaj, Karol G, Khalid, Haim, Ava Max, Charli XCX, Dominic Fike, Gayle, Tame Impala, the Kid Laroi, PinkPantheress and some mystery unknown artists.

Some more *secrets* revealed
One of those secret voices was recently revealed to be Billie Eilish, whose song for the album dropped on July 13. It is called What Was I Made For?.
“We made this song for Barbie and it means the absolute worrrrllld to me,” Eilish wrote on Instagram when revealing the surprise to her fans. “This movie is gonna change ur lives and hopefully this song will too. Get ready to sob.”

In addition, Dua Lipa is part of Barbie The Album and the film’s supporting cast. Her song Dance the Night has been out for a while – being the first single from the album. It is a disco pop anthem that pairs with one of the many dance routines in the film. Dua Lipa stars as a mermaid in Barbie.
And yes, Ryan Gosling’s Ken features on the album too! His I’m Just Ken has become one of the most-hyped track after its release on July 10. Mark Ronson, the album’s executive producer told Vanity Fair that the song deeply affected Gosling. So much so that he asked director Gerwig to perform it in the film. Gerwig agreed, even rewriting an important scene in the movie to accommodate the piece.
