A mass centre, where up to 4 000 Covid-19 vaccinations can be done per day, will be completed by the end of the month in Cape Town.

However, it depends on whether there will be enough vaccine doses available. That’s the word from the Western Cape Head of Health, Dr Keith Cloete. The Cape Town International Convention Centre will be used again, same as last year when the centre was turned into a field hospital for Covid-19 patients. Cloete says the CTICC will be the first of at least 3 mass vaccination centres in Cape Town. The Western Cape government will be responsible for managing the project but is still waiting for the Johnson & Johnson vaccine to be made available.
