The Unemployment Insurance Fund says it has halted all TERS-payments, as it is busy verifying five million identity documents.

The Fund says South Africans who have not yet received their Covid-19 Temporary Employer-Employee Relief Scheme benefits, have until 25 September to do apply for the benefit.

This, as the Department of Employment and Labour yesterday announced the extension of the benefits, until the end of the national state of disaster.

UIF spokes-person, Makhosonke Buthelezi, says this will allow employees who work in industries not yet operational under level 2 of the lockdown, or who are currently not receiving their full salaries, to benefit from the scheme.

Buthelezi says all other applications that have been submitted is being attended to…
