Bailey’s Hi-5: 5 Hangover Cures that Work Fast

Published on

A very popular Google search is: “Can I die from a hangover?” Seriously. 🙂

It’s weekend time and if you’re planning on going large, remember Bailey’s Hi-5 (which will be up on our website when you need a reminder.)

  1. Eat Before. This is one of the most important things to do to keep hangovers from coming the next morning. Hangovers are brutal when you’ve drunk on an empty stomach, so you want to eat something decent before hand – you are literally lining your stomach.
  2. Drink a small cup of pickle juice.  Drink a cup of pickle juice to combat the headache, grogginess, and cramping you experience with a hangover. It’ll replenish the electrolytes in your body. To be honest, the idea of drinking pickle juice when you’re feeling revolting isn’t so appealing – but it works SO FAST! So if you’re “dying”, do it. Otherwise, coconut water and energy drinks with electrolytes are good – but be careful of the sugar content.
  3. Take Activated Charcoal. This is a tried and tested trick – I took activated charcoal on the night of my Bachelorette and I woke up feeling –not fresh, but not “dying.” Charcoal is great for removing toxins from our skin and brightening our teeth; however, it’s also a great resource for getting over a hangover. It essentially enters your body and helps pull all the toxic (re: alcohol) out.
  4. Greasy Food. Our poor health! BUT, if you’re going to have greasy food, then you want to eat it before you go to bed. Going to bed with just alcohol in your stomach makes you feel gross, bloated, and uncomfortable come morning, so try to eat some crackers, a piece of toast, or basically anything to get some food in you. There was method to those 2am Drive-Thru’s or those 3am Garage pies.
  5. CBD Oil. CBD is basically a miracle worker for many things, and you can add hangovers to the list. CBD is great for pain relief, making it a no-brainer for dealing with headaches and puffiness due to its anti-inflammatory properties. It’s also known to decrease nausea – use it responsibly and in the correct dosage.

Have a responsible weekend! xxx
