iSmile Report – Deadline looming for Africa-based tech entrepreneurs

Published on

Midnight tonight is the deadline for tech startups to apply to be part of StartUpBootCamp (SBC) AfriTech 2019 – a growing accelerator program that could result in international exposure for your business.

Last year, The Global Startup Awards named SBC AfriTech the continent’s top accelerator, largely thanks to the fact that 20 companies in its portfolio signed 52 pilots and commercial agreements in the preceding two years.

Backed by the likes of RCS, Old Mutual and Nedbank, they are looking for high growth start-ups that are solving real African problems.

In the end, they provide access to funding, mentorship and business expertise for those that make it into the top 10.

The AfriTech programme culminates in a Demo Day on 7 November.

This is preceded by an Investor Premiere the day before, where the Top-10 start-ups showcase their products to a global audience of investors, VCs, corporate sponsors, service partners, and industry leaders.

be part of the broad agreement that Africa … and especially SA could end up playing a huge role in the world’s digital growth and innovation.
