A 35-year-old man will appear before the Beaufort West Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 19 August, after he was arrested for allegedly dealing in drugs.

The South African Police Service (SAPS) says it received a tip-off about suspected drug dealing activities in Stolshoek Road, Hillside 2, on Monday.

SAPS says members of the Beaufort West CID and operational members responded to the information and arrived at the address at around 19:40.

“Upon arrival at the aforesaid address a search was conducted in which 191 mandrax tablets, 59,18kg dagga and an undisclosed amount of cash were discovered and confiscated.”

The 35-year-old suspect was arrested for dealing in drugs.

Police say the arrest forms part of ongoing efforts to combat drug-related crime in the Western Cape.
