Matric Learners Tackle Maths Exams Across Western Cape

Published on

Western Cape Education MEC David Maynier says more than 75,000 matric learners are sitting for their first Mathematics, Mathematical Literacy, or Technical Mathematics paper today.

Maynier confirmed that 75,234 candidates are writing, marking one of the largest exam sessions of the 2025 National Senior Certificate examinations. The second paper will be written on Monday, 3 November.

He urged the public to continue showing support for the Class of 2025 and to help ensure that the exam season proceeds smoothly and without disruptions.

“Ensuring that these large sessions can take place successfully requires a great deal of logistical planning, so we appeal to the public to continue giving their support to our matrics as they have done so far, and avoid any disruptions to the exams.”
