The local music industry just got a bold new business called Pretty Loud. The first of its kind on the continent, Pretty Loud is a music ecosystem created by women, for women.
Through artist memberships, studio access, creative workshops, and live experiences, the company aims to build a pipeline of female talent and give them the tools, network, and support to thrive.
It’s the brainchild of Amy Tjasink, acclaimed musician and songwriter who made her mark on The Voice SA, and Erin Elliot, a songwriter signed with Sony Music Publishing and successful creative entrepreneur.
They launched the business on Thursday night with a pyjama party that included many local artists like Anica Kiana, Mila Smith, Shaza and Idols winners, Paxton, Berry, and Sasha-Lee Davids.

Together, they’ve merged their passion for songwriting, song production, and supporting women artists into a business with a service offering that includes a recording studio, a content creation space, a rehearsal area, and songwriting camps.
Tjasink and Elliot offer a safe and creative space for women who remain underrepresented in the music industry. With less than 20% of performing rights royalties going to women in South Africa, Pretty Loud wants to help women create a better music industry through mentorship, access, and a supportive community.
