Another South African woman has been attacked on a cruise ship in the Bahamas.

The Royal Bahamas Police Force reported on Friday that a 35-year-old South African crew member onboard ‘The Icon of The Seas’ jumped overboard on Thursday, 24 July, in the waters off San Salvador, after allegedly stabbing his 28-year-old female coworker, who is also South African.

The woman sustained multiple stab wounds, but was treated by onboard medical staff and is in a stable condition. According to reports, she was being treated at a hospital in Miami.

The man fled the scene and jumped off the ship, to the shock of passengers.

A speedboat was deployed from the vessel to retrieve the man. He was retrieved unresponsive and pronounced dead.

The crewmember, reportedly a bartender, allegedly attacked the woman after an argument. It is also believed they were dating.

The incident comes on the heels of the murder of Paige Bell on 3 July, who was found dead in the engine room of the luxury yacht Far From It. A Mexican ship engineer was arrested, and he is due back in court in November.
