Published on

Open Book Festival is proud to unveil an exceptional roster of authors for its upcoming event, happening from 6-8 September at the HCC Homecoming Centre.

The lineup features a diverse mix of established and emerging voices from South Africa and across the African continent.

This year’s festival promises to be more than just a celebration of literature; it will serve as a vital platform for meaningful discussions. The lineup includes a wide array of talented writers, reflecting the rich tapestry of African literature.

Festival-goers will have the opportunity to purchase books by participating authors through the event’s official partner, The Book Lounge. Attendees are encouraged to support these talented writers and delve into their works ahead of the festival.

The full programme, set to be released in early August, will feature an array of panel discussions and performances. Visitors can look forward to planning their festival experience once the complete schedule of events is made available on the official website. The full participant list is available on the website as well.

Open Book Festival would like to extend its heartfelt gratitude to our generous sponsors and dedicated partners, the Department of Sports & Culture, the City of Cape Town, the Heinrich Boll Foundation, Stellenbosch University, the NRF SARCgl Chair in African Feminist Imagination at Nelson Mandela University, Jonathan Ball Publishers, Penguin Random House, NB Publishers, Pan Macmillan, Nal’ibali, African Literary Cities, Fame Week Africa, Letterhead, Littegig, and the House of Sachane.

Open Book Festival continues to champion the power of storytelling and the importance of diverse voices in literature. Book lovers and change-makers are invited to join this celebration of words and ideas.
