In a heart-stopping video has been garnering hundreds of views and comments this week. It shows a man smashing his way through a windshield, trying to rescue his baby from a locked car. Media reports indicate that he had accidentally locked the infant inside the car – along with the keys.
A bystander filmed the rescue in the parking lot of a gas station in a city in Texas.
The incident took place on July 19, when temperatures in the city reportedly reached a maximum of 100F / 37.7C.
The footage shows – with the help of bystanders – the man smashing his way into the car. After the windshield was broken, they were able to gain access to the vehicle. Later in the video, a woman can be seen lifting the child to someone outside the car.
The video was first shared on the Instagram page Foos Gone Wild. It is accredited to the TikTok account, @lindahdz91.
It is unclear how long the baby had been left in the car. But according to the United States Department of Transportation, it takes only 10 minutes for a car to heat up to 20 degrees.
Sky News reports that the baby is ‘fine’ following the ordeal. Additionally, no charges were laid against the parents.
