Asian-focused multimedia company, 88rising, and mega K-pop management agency, Cube Entertainment, have officially joined forces. The two music heavyweights have collaborated on (G)I-DLE’s first ever English single, ‘I DO’.

Bringing the HEAT, a little differently

The new track strikes a noticeably different chord compared to the group’s previous bold bangers like ‘Queencard’, ‘Tomboy’ and ‘Nxde’. Sweet melodies, accompany heartfelt lyrics along with an easy-to-sing-along vocal performances by Soyeon, Minnie, Miyeon, Yuqi and Shuhua.

‘I DO’ is the first track off (G)I-DLE’s full English-language album, HEAT. Which is also the group’s upcoming EP, co-executive produced by 88rising!

“We’re very excited about the release of HEAT, which will be our first EP fully in English,” said Woohyung Ahn, CEO of Cube Entertainment. HEAT marks the company’s first original English-language project in its nearly 17-year history. “HEAT is all about being confident and bringing the spirit of an endless summer with you wherever you go,” explains Ahn.

The Queens are still at the top

The Korean Business Research Institute says (G)I-DLE held on to their No.2 spot in its monthly brand reputation rankings list for K-pop girl groups. The Institute sets the rankings by analysing data collected from June 9 to July 9.

(G)I-DLE is currently on their ‘I AM FREE-TY’ World Tour.

Sean Miyashiro, the founder and CEO of 88rising, says he has “been a fan of (G)I-DLE for a long time because, creatively, they are so in tune and involved with the music and stuff they put out”. His comments relate to Soyeon, (G)I-DLE’s 24-year-old leader, primary songwriter, and producer.

“Soyeon knows what she wants and thinks of every member in so much detail for every song from the delivery of the vocal to the tone and the overall cadence of the song—she truly is a genius,” gushed Miyashiro.
