Award-winning American rapper, Kendrick Lamar will be setting South Africa ablaze in December with his highly-anticipated performance at the Hey Neighbour Festival. He will headline the event. Other highly acclaimed artists will share the stage with him at the festival.

 

Beyond his captivating flows, Kendrick is a multi-Grammy Award winner and the only rapper with a Pulitzer prize under his name.

 

This will be the first time in almost a decade that the HUMBLE singer will perform in the country.

 

 

Musicians like The Chainsmokers and Swedish House Mafia will join Lamar at the festival. Other talented artists include Khalid and H.E.R.

 

The Hey Neighbour Festival is set to take place in from 8 to 10 December in Pretoria. Glen 21 Entertainment, the event’s organiser, confirmed in a statement that Kendrick would be the headline act for day 2 of the festival.

 

“This festival is a global gathering, a vibrant celebration of music, culture, and most importantly, community. It’s where the unfamiliar face in the crowd becomes the friend you dance with,” says the statement.

 

 

Kendrick Lamar’s last visit to South Africa was back in March 2014. He performed in Johanessburg, Durban and Cape Town. He famously released his magnum opus album “To Pimp A Butterfly” shortly after the trip.

 

The Hey Neighbour Festival event organisers have promised to announce more local and international acts in the coming weeks.

 

Tickets cost between R3,899 for general access, and R4,999 for VIP.
