Rock icon Jack White is heading to South Africa for the first time, with two exclusive performances announced for Johannesburg and Cape Town this December.
The Grammy Award-winning musician, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist will perform at The Old Park Station in Johannesburg on Friday, 11 December, before heading to Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens in Cape Town on Monday, 14 December.
The shows are presented by BreakOut Events and will give South African fans the chance to experience White’s renowned live performances, spanning his career with The White Stripes, The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather, as well as his solo work.
White is currently touring in support of his latest studio album, Frozen Charlotte, his seventh solo studio album.

A career spanning more than two decades
White first shot to international fame as one half of The White Stripes alongside Meg White. The duo’s stripped-back, blues-infused sound and distinctive visual style helped shape the rock landscape of the early 2000s.
He subsequently expanded his musical output through The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather before launching an acclaimed solo career.
White’s latest album, Frozen Charlotte, continues his exploration of blues, rock, garage, punk, folk and experimental sounds.
The album features 13 tracks and was produced and mixed by White at his Third Man Studio in Nashville.
For South African rock fans, December will mark the first opportunity to see one of modern rock’s most distinctive performers on home soil.
