Racism, nepotism and financial irregularities widespread in Durban High School, KZNDOE

Published on

The independent panel investigation into Durban’s Grosvenor High School has found racism is widespread at the school. KwaZulu-Natal Education MEC Kwazi Mshengu says the report also found that racism is normalised and that it is second nature at that school and that black people who are learners and employees suffer in an atmosphere of being suppressed, oppressed and of being voiceless. MEC Mshengu says the investigation also found that racism at Grosvenor Girls High School is systematic, structural and that white authority dominates all facets at the school. The panel also confirmed accusations of nepotism and financial irregularities.
