Is a 4-day work week a possibility, will SA latch onto this trend

A local labor-law expert says even though implementing a 4-day work week would be possible in the country – it would require changes to local legislation to make this a possibility. Senior Associate in Employment Law, at Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr, Asma Cachalia says the arrangement would also be challenging to implement in sectors such as the mining industry as employees in specific sectors would not be able to stay away from work for three days a week. Cachalia says this trend has already taken off in countries such as Spain, Belgium, and Japan.
