For the first time since March 2020, South Africans might soon be able to be in public places indoors without their masks. The President’s Coordinating Council meets this morning to discuss the proposal to drop the requirement to wear masks, after a recommendation by Health Minister Dr. Joe Phaala. Phaahla has also recommended that the limitations on gatherings; and limitations on entry to South Africa for travelers, be scrapped. Premier Alan Winde has reiterated it’s now time for individuals to take personal responsibility and for all restrictions to go.
