WATCH: Become a responsible user – you can never delete your digital footprint

The Deputy Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development, John Jeffery has called on South Africans to become responsible social media users – cautioning users that their digital footprint will stay with them forever.

Jeffery was the guest speaker during a lecture at the University of the Free State speaking at a lecture entitled “Social Media and the Limits on Expressing Yourself”

The Minister says cyber bullying also has a devastating impact, especially on children.

He also urged social media users not to fall foul of the law, with a rise in cyber crime.
