Cabinet is set to be briefed by the National Coronavirus Command Council soon on whether the National State of Disaster legislation should be extended or not.

President Cyril Ramaphosa says the NCCC is currently considering whether to lift the state of disaster, in light of the tapering off of Covid-19 cases and calls from various parties that it should be scrapped. Alternative legislative measures will be considered.
