Several areas in the Cape metro are seeing low vaccination registrations, with the City of Cape Town urging citizens to sign up even as the rate of new infections is slowing down.

The Metro is currently seeing about 2 284 new cases a day. There was also a drop in deaths, with 72 recorded, on average, in the past 7 days, compared to a daily average of 84 the week before.
