The province is due to receive a tranche of over 246 000 Johnson & Johnson and Pfizer doses, today. The provincial health department yesterday confirmed that the Western Cape is at the peak of the third wave of the pandemic. Winde says doctors and nurses are under pressure and seeing families suffering daily.
The provincial head of health, Dr Keith Cloete says cases of hospitalization in public hospitals are still increasing but in their private counterparts, the number of cases has reached a plateau.
