The Western Cape recorded 9 additional Covid-19 fatalities, over the past 24 hour monitoring period, with the provincial Covid-19 death toll rising to 11 720.

According to the provincial Health department, a total of 94 092 residents had, to date, been vaccinated against the virus.

93 153 healthcare workers had been vaccinated under the Sisonke protocol which came to an end on Sunday.

A further 2 939 people, including healthcare workers and people over 60, have been vaccinated since Monday, when phase 2 of the vaccination campaign kicked off.
