The World Health Organization says the surge in covid-19 infections, globally, has contributed to the shortfall in supply of covid-19 vaccine doses to the Covax-facility.

The facility is a global alliance of governments, health organisations and role-players in the private sector, promoting the equal delivery of vaccines to all countries. The WHO’s Director-General, Dr Tedros Ghebreyesus says there will be a short-fall of up to 190-million doses to Covax, by the end of June.
