The minister of health dr Zweli Mkhize has announced that nearly 1 400 new covid-19 cases have been recorded over the latest 24-hour monitoring period, in the country. At the same time, 73 deaths were confirmed, taking the death toll to 53 571. Mkhize says in the past 24 hours 1 372 new infections were detected.
