Agriculture Minister Thoko Didiza says her Department has received close to 6,000 for Government’s land reform programme.
The Minister gave a progress-update this week after her announcement in October, that 700,000 hectares of land has been set aside for this purpose.
Minister Didiza says 894 farms Government-owned farms, comprising 529,000 hectares of land, is set to be distributed to beneficiaries.
Minister Didiza says her Department is aware of reports of corrupt Government-officials who are trying to bribe potential-beneficiaries of Government’s land reform programme.
She says the closing date for applications to the programme, comes to an end on 15 November.
