The City of Cape Town says it has managed to deliver more than 100-million litres of water to informal settlements, during the national lockdown. The City’s Directorate of Water says it has been providing a temporary emergency water delivery service to provide communities with access to water, for basic hygiene to help reduce the spread of COVID-19. May-co member at the Directorate, Xanthea Limberg says the initiative was launched on 27 March this year, and says there are currently 15 trucks delivring water to communities on a daily basis.
