5 people arrested in Philippi in connection with the hijacking of a cargo-truck

Five people were arrested in connection with the hijacking of a truck transporting cargo with an estimated value of R1-million.

Police say the suspects were arrested after a tip-off at Schaapkraal, in Philippi, while they were offloading the truck.

The police also recovered a blue light which was used by the culprits.
