Formula Libre Visitors Spice Up Killarney’s Power Series

Published on

Round 7 of the Power Series presented by Wingfield Motors and Smile 90.4 FM at Killarney on Saturday 29 July takes on a ‘North versus South’ flavour with a crew of visiting drivers from Gauteng spicing up the Formula Libre entry list – and the locals are taking it as a challenge! You can also meet the visitors and see their cars up close on the Fan Walk during the lunch break.

But they are just one highlight of the day’s action-packed programme. There’s THRILLS AND FAMILY FUN for petrolheads of all ages with races for modified Saloon Cars, Classics and big thundering V8 Masters, as well as the Wild Rose Gin 100 over 31 laps for Sports & GT cars. Fans of two-wheeled action can enjoy two categories of motorcycle racing, from 300cc Supersport machines to 150kW litre-class Superbikes.

And if you pre-purchase your spectator tickets from our online ticket sales provider Ticketmaster you get all this for just R80 for adults, R10 for under-16s and free for under-12s. In addition, you get speedy access to Killarney with scanners in operation to verify your booking right off your phone – no need to print your tickets out or pick them up.

Tickets will also be available at the gate (cash or card!) on the day at the normal prices: R100 for adults, R20 for scholars under 16 and free for children under 12 – and as always, WPMC members get in free on production of your membership book at the gate.

There are outlets around the facility serving hot snacks and cold beverages – as well as children’s play areas, including the famous Kiddies’ Korner, the coolest party zone on the West Coast, which is available for hire year-round. On Race Day your kids get to use it absolutely free!

Spectators are free to move around throughout the day; grab a spot on the free shuttle service and watch the action from different vantage points. The pits are always open to spectators, so you can also see the cars and motorcycles up close.

There’s ample parking all around the circuit, so bring your beach umbrella or gazebo, bring your picnic basket and your cooler box, light up your skottelbraai, park next to one of our brick braais, or just pick a seat on one of our shaded grandstands and make the day your own.
