In a statement yesterday, 14 September, Health Minister Zweli Mhkize says the Department of Health has considered easing restrictions in various aspects- such as the curfew, sale of alcohol, religious gatherings, and travel restrictions.
This after observing a sustained decline in Corona virus transmission in the country.
The NCCC will now make final recommendations to Cabinet.
Mhkize has also re-configured his Ministerial Advisory Committee. While Prof Salim Abdool Karim is still the chair Prof Glenda Gray of the MRC is notably absent.
