The MEC for Health, Dr Nomafrench Mbombo says that although the province’s Covid-19 vaccination program seems to be moving at a snail’s pace, the Western Cape is actually making the best progress in vaccinating pensioners.
During the weekly digicon, Mbombo said that the province has the largest number of retirement resorts and old age homes, than elsewhere in South Africa, and therefore there are more people, over 60, to be vaccinated.
She says the province has already, since the start of phase 2 of its vaccination program, given more than 20 thousand inhabitants their injection.
