Western Cape Covid-19 death toll increases to 16,139

The Western Cape’s Covid-19 death toll has risen by a further 148 deaths over the last 24-hour monitoring period.

The province’s death toll now stands at 16,139.

The Western Cape currently reports an average of 106 covid-related deaths per day.

There are currently more than 3,600 residents admitted to hospitals for covid-related complications.

702 patients are currently in intensive care.
