While the on-time admissions window for Grades R, 1, and 8 in 2026 closed in mid-April, schools will begin offering acceptances on 30 May 2025, with parents required to confirm by 17 June 2025.
Western Cape Education MEC David Maynier has made a call to parents and caregivers to ensure that they have their login details ready for the online system. A step-by-step guide is available on the WCED website. Parents must also update their contact details to avoid missing important notifications.

“Schools will start to make offers of acceptance to parents who applied on time. Parents will then be required to log in to the WCED’s admissions system to confirm their acceptance. Parents can contact the WCED call centre on 0861 819 919 or visit their education district office to update their contact details,” said Maynier.
