WC Police offers rewards of up to R300 000 for arrests of wanted murder suspects

Provincial police authorities are offering rewards of between R50 000 and R100 000 each to anyone with information that could lead to the arrest and conviction of four wanted murder suspects.

 

The four separate crimes were perpetrated between 2023 and this year.

The first incident is for the killing of a British doctor, the second for the murder of a Kraaifontein school principal, third pertains to the murder of the late CATA secretary general while the fourth incident relates to man who is wanted in connection with a series of taxi-related murders.

 

MURDER OF BRITISH DOCTOR

 

On 03 August 2023 at about 18:15, a British doctor was shot and killed during the taxi strike when the deceased and his family were travelling from Hermanus to Cape Town. They were en-route to the airport when their GPS rerouted them through Nyanga as the N-2 was blocked due to a taxi strike. While driving in Ntlangano Road, an unknown man approached and shot  the doctor in the head.

 

The suspect was described as a light skinned African male wearing a hoodie. No one else was injured or robbed.

 

A reward of up to R100 000 is offered.  

 

MURDER OF KRAAIFONTEIN SCHOOL PRINCIPAL

 

On 23 January 2025 at approximately 07:00, the deceased, Mr Sigudla, the principal of Ekutheleni Primary in Kraaifontein and his wife stopped in front of the school when they were accosted by two suspects of whom one pulled out  firearm and shot the deceased multiple times. The deceased’ wife was wounded in her arm. Nothing was taken and the suspects fled on foot.

 

A reward of up to R50 000 is offered.  

MURDER OF CATA SECRETARY-GENERAL

 

On 16 April 2025 at about 17:45, the deceased who was the secretary general of CATA at the time, was shot multiple times while he was seated in his stationary Toyota Fortuner at the Nyanga Tax Rank. Nothing was taken from the deceased, even though he was armed. It is believed that two suspects fled the scene.

 

A reward of up to R50 000 is offered by police.  

 

“We appeal to anyone with information regarding the murders and the whereabouts of the suspects to contact Lt Col Julian Tarentaal on 082 559 4645 or Capt Lukhanyo Magadla on 082 411 3245, both are attached to the Western Cape Serious and Violent Crime Investigations. Alternatively, Crime Stop can be contacted on 08600 10111 or on MySAPS mobile application,” said police spokesperson Malcolm Pojie. 

 

ALLEGED TAXI HITMAN

 

At the same time, officials are also offering a reward of up to R100 000 for information leading to the arrest of Vuyo Tshukela, also known as “Yesu,” who is wanted in connection with a series of taxi-related murders.

 

A warrant of arrest has been issued for Tshukela, who remains at large. Authorities have linked him to at least four murders carried out in Philippi East and Nyanga in August 2024, as well as killings in Nyanga and Delft in September 2024.
