The Western Cape MEC of Agriculture, Ivan Meyer has welcomed the City’s offer to share its crime-fighting resources, including, training, knowledge and experience with rural police stations. This after rural safety was of particular interest at the Department’s inaugural Agricultural Municipal Summit, following the recent murder of farmer Hendrick Pistorius. Meyer emphasised that collaboration is key in establishing an effective rural safety network.
