Kids love playing with our tech, but a badly entered password can lock us out – and it seems iPad has a feature to pause a would-be hacker… but in the case of Evan Osnos, his 3 year old toddler was that hacker and managed to upset the iPad enough to lock itself for a whopping 25, 536,442 minutes. Which equals 47 years. That’s a long time to wait to unlock something you’re probably going to need when you have to Google ways to unlock the same thing.
Twitter had hilarious responses including putting it in rice, or resetting the toddler.
Dad Evan did tweet the following day to report: “Update on toddler-iPad-lock-out: Got it into DFU mode (don’t hold down the sleep/power button too long or you end up in recovery). Now restoring. Thanks to those who shared advice!” That’s definitely a life-hack we’ll have to keep on file for when those nieces and nephews visit!

Uh, this looks fake but, alas, it’s our iPad today after 3-year-old tried (repeatedly) to unlock. Ideas? pic.twitter.com/5i7ZBxx9rW
