Water officials on local, provincial and national front are rejoicing following the good rainfall so far this winter.

The fact that the ground is soaked has assisted the runoff from rainfall catchment areas to speedily flow into dams.

The Department of Water and Sanitation says this runoff will hopefully penetrate other water systems including ground water.

Cape Town dam levels are now on average over 75% full!
