US Vice President Mike Pence says he does not support invoking the 25th Amendment to remove President Donald Trump just a week before the end of his term, saying such a move is not in the country’s “best interest”. The vice president is crucial to the process because under the 25th Amendment, Pence and the majority of Trump’s cabinet would need to declare Trump unable to perform the duties of the presidency and install Pence as acting president.
