Unvaccinated Western Cape residents at high risk of developing severe Covid-19

The Western Cape Health department has again urged those in high-risk groups, who have not yet been vaccinated, to get their jab as soon as possible.

According to the Western Cape Head of Health, Dr Keith Cloete many doctors across the province report that the majority of patients who now end up in hospitals, with severe forms of Covid-19, are those who have not been vaccinated.

Cloete says vaccination not only protects people from developing severe Covid-19, but would also help protect the healthcare system from becoming overwhelmed.
