Transport Minister, Fikile Mbalula has bemoaned the high number of pedestrians who were killed on South African roads over the Easter weekend.

Mbalula released the Easter long-weekend accident-figures yesterday and said the country recorded a 5% increase in pedestrian fatalities, in comparison to the same period last year.

He says alcohol-use plays a huge role in leading to pedestrians being killed on the country’s roads.
