Tourism Minister, Mmamoloko Kubayi-Ngubane, says South Africa is perfectly situated and offers the perfect combination of facilities, to be a destination of choice in a post-Covid-19 world.
She spoke during an online briefing last week and says her department has been engaging with Governments from around the World, to assure overseas visitors of their safety when visiting the country.
The Minister says people would, in the wake of the pandemic, opt for destinations that offer an array of attractions and activities to avoid traveling to more than one country, thus reducing their chances of contracting the virus.
The Minister says there is still great interest among overseas visitors to again visit South Africa.
She says research among travelers from overseas countries show that people are still interested and keen in visiting South African shores but, some have concerns of traveling here while the 501Y.V2 variant of Covid-19 is still prevalent.
She says the launch of the country’s vaccination campaign will help in attracting visitors back to the country.
