Tiktok content creator and crimefighter join ties for anti-bullying campaign

A well-known singer-songwriter and TikTok content creator Ashwin Martin has teamed up with crimefighter, Byron De Villiers to create awareness around the dangers of bullying amongst children.

Earlier this month, Basic Education Minister Siviwe Gwarube revealed that nearly 600 cases of bullying have been reported at schools, across the country, since the start of the academic year six weeks ago.

For this reason, De Villiers and Martin teamed up as The Tapout Foundation and they’ll be visiting schools across cape town to address the high levels of bullying. De Villiers explained why bullying can be dangerous and life-threatening:

“It breaks a child down to the point where he or she feels that they feel that they are no longer worth anything and we want to prevent that. Even if it means that we have to go out every single day and encourage the learners to be positive and also to tell them that there are people who care, that is more important for us,” said De Villiers.
