The Western Cape reported a further 12 Covid-19 deaths yesterday with the Western Cape-related death toll now rising to 11 685.

According to the Western Cape Department of Health it is ready for the launch of Phase 2 of the country’s vaccination campaign, which kicks off on Monday, 17 May.

To date, at least a third of the province’s more than 750-thousand pensioners have registered for their vaccination.

Stage 2 will focus on the vaccination of people over 60, and people with underlying disease-conditions.
