KwaZulu-Natal had the second-highest number of cases, followed by the Eastern Cape.
Meanwhile, the province has administered more than 2.5 million vaccine doses, with more than 1.7-million adults or 36% of the adult population, receiving at least one jab. More than a million people have also been fully vaccinated in the Western Cape.
At the same time, the City’s Health Department has urged continued compliance with covid-19 protocols as the metro continues to show a decrease in new infections and deaths. The Mayco Member for Health, Zahid Badroodien says it’s important that people continue to adhere to the covid-19 measures.
