The Western Cape Department of Health says it has received a large consignment of Pfizer vaccine.

The more than 191-thousand doses will be used to ramp up vaccinations across the province.

The number of vaccines, to be delivered to rural areas, will also be increased.

Of the consignment of vaccines, which the Western Cape received between 17 May and 18 June, more than 98% have already been used.
