Premier Alan Winde has confirmed that there were far fewer trauma cases recorded over this past Easter long weekend, which can be attributed to heightened police visibility but also the limited sale of alcohol. As of one o’clock this afternoon (Thurs 8 Apr) the Western Cape had 2 195 active Covid-19 infections with a total of 281-thousand 024 confirmed Covid-19 cases. A total of 52-thousand 202 out of the 53-thousand 820 vaccines received to date as part of the Sisonke trial, had been administered.
