The US white ex-police officer convicted of murdering African-American man George Floyd in Minneapolis in May 2020 has been sentenced to more than 20 years in jail.

According to the BBC, Judge Peter Cahill says Derek Chauvin abused his position. 48-year old Floyd died after Chauvin knelt on his neck for 9 minutes.
