The national state of disaster on Covid-19 has been extended by another month to 15 May. Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma says the extension, which was to expire today, has been gazetted. The national state of disaster was declared on 15 March 2020 in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. It was originally set for three months, but regulations allow Dlamini-Zuma to extend it by notice in the Government Gazette monthly. She encouraged people to continue following non-pharmaceutical interventions, like wearing masks and social distancing.
