The majority of the trauma patients at Mitchells Square Hospital, during last year’s liquor ban, were children.

This, according to a study by the University of Cape Town and the University of Stellenbosch.

The information from all trauma patients who called for help at the Mitchells Plain Hospital’s emergency center from March 1 to September 29, 2020 was used in the research.

This was compared with the data from the corresponding time in 2019.
