The inaugural meeting of the Council of the City of Cape Town will be held on Thursday morning.

The city’s youngest mayor, 34-year old Geordin Hill-Lewis will be inaugurated after the DA claimed the metro, once again, with more than 58% of the vote, in the recent Local Government Elections. The Council meeting will be broadcast live on the City’s Youtube page. Meanwhile, the Knysna Council in the Southern Cape was unable to elect its leaders yesterday. According to the SABC, the voting for the Speaker ended in a hung decision, with 10 votes each for the 2 nominees, with the EFF councillor abstaining from voting. The council will reconvene in 7 days.
